I really appreciate your video especially the part about Victoria Village. My family are from not far away in Mahaica and I never knew this part of Afro-Guyanese history.
I respect everybodies culture. But, as an American I choose to eat most of my food with a fork and soup with a spoon. No shade. But,I will bring salt, pepper, hot sauce. I will bring paper eating utensils. Thanks😊

Guyana seems like a chill place with nice people. I don't get why the US State Department puts it as a Category 3 (Strongly Reconsider Travel) country. I've been to a number of Cat 3 countries that warranted the rating, but I'm not seeing it here.

I am a Guyanese who left 54 years ago. Seeing the poverty in Albouystown (a different vid of yours) was heartbreaking, but Victoria village really lifted my spirits. I don't know why we were never taught about this, it is inspirational. I really like how you engage with Guyanese and try all the food.
You are using your hands incorrectly to eat. When eating with your bare hands, you only use your right hand. In terms of hygiene, your left hand is used for dirty business, including cleaning after yourself after defecating.

I am from Victoria Village but living in New York I was really happy to see a vlogger going to the first village. That pink shop is the Luke's and the wash bay is owned by Owen McCurius. That building used to be Greco back in the days with many workers. My grandfather Ralph Moore name is on the monument in the community Center yard he was the village councilor before I was born. You should have walked forth where most of the villagers live and it's the fun side too, you would have gotten more knowledge of the village.

Next year, Guyana is going to surpass Switzerland and Norway in terms of GDP per capita PPP, meaning average guyanian is going to have more purchasing power than a switz, but it doesn't look like anything is much different. I search videos each year to see how everything changes, but yeah, barely any improvement.
