I love the private school uniforms and hair styles in Ghana. Black socks are nice and make sense. The short hair style is practical and also poorer families can afford, this is one of the the main reasons that public schools have it in many african countries. And when it is hot, it is better anywax. // I don’t like the german "free" dress codes because we have to decide every day what to wear and it is somewhow a competition and sometimes reasons for bullying.
Mine at morning we could wear freestyle or you cam wear uniform but in afternoon we're supposed to wear full uniform

I don't know which country or continent you're from but in Africa, braiding your hair with extensions are expensive and school girls in a public school braiding is a distraction from what they're to do (which is learning) because most of them can't afford it and that's where the distractions come in. They could engage in all sorts, the moment the chance to start competing sets in and that is just what braiding with extensions causes. I'm from Nigeria and whether private or public, most hairstyles are done with natural hair and if at all you're to add extensions (it's the natural looking ones like Kinky and they are to be made short at hairs length).
The main goal is to learn and not to start competing over looks
In Italy we wear uniforms only in elementary school (unless it's a private school because they tend to wear uniforms even later) and I HATED it so much, I went into middle school and immediately regretted hating the uniform because I got bullied relentlessly for how I dressed😅

What they make them cut their hair, here in my country it's really important to have long hair for females although they say cover your chest it's distracting even in girls school……
