I was born in guyana but there was some south americans there i think cuz i had a teacher that spoke american not how we say boy girl or any of that but i moved to america cuz i heard too much gunshots so now im in a country that survived a country with stronger weapons then the axis still survived ww2
As a Guyanese its incorrect to say Essequibo was ruled from Bogota thats not true. The Spanish only claimed the area on paper maps they never settled the area period there is absolutely nothing you can trace back to the spanish or e venezuelas in Essequib thats a fact. the Dutch were the first to settled here and build forts in the 1600s the ruins of which can be found. there area mainly changed hands between the british and dutch there was never any push back from the spanish as they were uninterested in the area as it was of little value to them. the british finally holding on to it. Its the Venezuelans using old spanish imperial claims were the ones who began to push back after the british were expanding westward. the border was finally settled by arbitration and aagreed to and signed by the british and venezuelans in 1899.
Our 21st century army couldn’t even handle poorly equipped militants and sheepherders in Iraq and Afghanistan after twenty wasted years. Maybe if we actually fought wars to WIN like we did in WW2 instead of dragging them out to nationbuild for the UN, banks, and corporations, I would have a different attitude.
