Message From Guyana Updates To All Guyanese:

+++ Everyone should PUT GUYANA FIRST, joining hands with the current Guyana Government, casting aside narrow political aspiration or affiliation and relatively trivial matters.

+++ Do Not Sabotage Your Own People’s & Country’s Development.

+++ Focus On The Issues And Not Ethnicity. Unite As One People For Rapid Advancement.

+++ Ask yourself: ” What Can I Do For My Country?” rather than “What Can My Country Do For
Me?”

+++ Please Do Not Blow (Squander) These Rare And Exceptional Opportunities.

+++ Please take heed to your CONSCIENCE and do the RIGHT THING for your country.

+++ CATCH THE VISION: Guyana Has Been Poor For Too Long; Now Is The Time For Guyana To Accelerate Like A Rocket With No Turning Back.

+++ Let’s Make Guyana Great And All Guyanese Would Be Happy, Gaining Respect From Around The World.

Important Note To All Guyanese:

+++ STOP. Drop whatever you’re doing right now. Listen. This Is Important & Urgent.
+++ It’s not late to lobby the new Guyana Gov’t to turn the Lopsided Oil Contract with Exxon into a fair deal.
+++ All Guyanese- in and out of Guyana- must appeal to, and support, the Gov’t to go back to the negotiating table (not physically necessarily).
+++ All Guyanese media outlets (newspapers, television stations, radios, internet) must daily voice their displeasure and call for RENEGOTIATION by Exxon. Exxon has to know most, if not all, Guyanese are unhappy with the grossly unfair contract.

+++ The majority of Guyanese wanted the PPP/C to take over gov’t from the wasteful and useless APNU-AFC.

+++ However, the DECISION taken of “No Renegotiation of the Stabroek Block Oil Contract” is illogical, baseless and a BIG MISTAKE. On what basis is that decision made? Why is the new gov’t unwilling to renegotiate?

+++ Would the new Guyana Government listen to Oil & Gas experienced professionals like Dr. Jan Mangal, Global Witness, countless others & majority of Guyanese who are displeased?

+++ Failure of the new Guyana Government to renegotiate the contract is equal to failure by the previous government to get a good deal – no difference.

+++ The ABCE countries and others do not require compensation for standing up for democracy and would not penalize Guyana for renegotiating / changing its mind.

+++ It may threaten to leave, but Exxon is going nowhere. Do not be fooled, “Oil Majors Are Not Giving Up On Guyana”. Exxon needs Guyana for them to succeed.

+++ No Decision Is Carved In Stone And Can Be Changed- other countries did it and Guyana can do it.

+++ The PPP/C Gov’t MUST correct the mistake of APNU-AFC by renegotiating the STABROEK BLOCK CONTRACT ASAP, using a special negotiating/consultancy firm.

+++ The PPP/C Gov’t MUST ensure that Guyana (and not secretive companies and individuals) gets the rightful and maximum benefits from the Canje and Kaieteur Blocks.

+++ Act WISELY but take some time to work out strategies

+++++++++++++++++++++

SUGGESTION FOR GOV’T:

+++ The Gov’t should use its recently established advisory committee to consult other stakeholders, along with the help of Global Witness and others, to hire a trustworthy, experienced, specialized oil contract negotiating firm to help do the RENEGOTIATION. Negotiation is a specialty and oil companies have trained staff to negotiate effectively in their favor.
