SVC/AJM CC beat Mahdia’s Movements Family by 67 runs in the grand final of the Lotto/Let’s Bet One Guyana T10 Tapeball Blast at the Anna Regina National Stadium on Sunday night, lifting the G$2 million national title under the lights.

In their first year in the competition, the rounded-up unit — led by Kemol Savoury, who was appearing in his fourth final — posted a formidable 132 for 2 in their 10 overs, then strangled Mahdia’s chase to seal a comprehensive victory and pocket the G$2 million top prize, courtesy of Star Rentals. Mahdia settled for the G$1 million runners-up purse.

Kevon Boodie was the Man of the Final, smashing a blazing 67 off just 32 balls with five fours and six towering sixes. Jonte Thomas added a fluent 42 off 27, and the pair’s match-defining 119-run partnership in 8.5 overs put the game firmly in SVC/AJM’s control.

Mahdia’s reply never got off the ground against a disciplined SVC pace attack, finishing on 65 for 8. Leon Swamy led the bowling with 2 for 3, supported by Ojay Shields (2-13) and Keyon Sinclair (2-14).

Earlier in the day, Mahdia steamrolled Grillmaster Sip N Play All-Stars by 100 runs in the first semi-final. Batting first, Mahdia piled up 157 for 5, powered by Ershaad Ali’s destructive 65 off 25 balls (seven sixes and a boundary) — Ali and Andy Lall (33 off 14) laid the platform with a blistering 72-run opening stand in 4.2 overs, while Yeudestir Persaud added a quickfire 23 off 13. Despite Devon Wharton’s 2-44, Grillmaster’s chase collapsed to 57 all out in 9.4 overs, with Junior Sinclair’s 19 off 12 the only double-figure score. Neiland Cadogan took 4-11, backed by Persaud (2-6) and Orrin Gibson (2-9); Ali was named Player of the Match.

The second semi-final was equally one-sided as SVC/AJM brushed aside Lusignan Bulls DTP II by 78 runs. Powered by an unbeaten half-century from the in-form Johnathan Fernandes (51*), alongside Kemol Savory (27*), Jamar Ifill (15*) and Boodie (15), SVC posted 144-3. Lusignan’s reply faltered at 76-6: veteran West Indies pacer Miguel Cummins starred with 3-14, Nial Smith took 1-9 and Ojay Shields 1-18, while Vishwanauth Ramalakhan top-scored with 20. Both losing semi-finalists pocketed G$500,000 each.

The packed finals day also featured a high-scoring five-over women’s clash, where Tapakuma (Elite Warriors) defeated Capoey United by 59 runs. Tapakuma piled up an imposing 111-1, driven by Tramaine Marks’ 58 off 17 balls and Shonette Belgrave’s 40 off 15; Capoey were restricted to 52-1. Tapakuma collected the G$90,000 winner’s prize and Capoey took home G$60,000.

The President’s Exhibition Match capped the day, with the One Guyana XI — featuring Ministers Charles Ramson and Steben Jacobs — defeating Team Eagles.

The finals ran behind schedule on the day: the first semi-final result was not posted until about 7:25 PM, the second semi-final was still going under the lights near 9 PM, and the 8:00 PM grand final started late. The tournament MVP (G$150,000 + motorbike), top run-scorer, leading wicket-taker, super strike rate and best economy rate winners had not been publicly announced at the time of publication.
