Things are really expensive here. A lot of imports from the US. So we have to pay tax on duties on the imports. So wemhatever you pay for items in the US, you need to add taxes and duties. So we have to pay more for items even tho we work for less.
Yes, the bridge must be opened to allow ships to pass.

Guyana is 50 yrs behind the rest of the world. They do not even have basic public transportation.
No over exaggeration. Quite pin point in your observations. Truly gotta have "belly" to drive in Guyana 😂🇬🇾
It's construction everywhere, and not everything you're saying is true
This tourist has no knowledge of the history of this country. She can see the magnificent older wooden civic buildings. She has no idea of the long history of extremely beautiful wooden architecture and a city that was well laid out, well maintained and well managed. What she's seeing now is a country with oil wealth, lacking the levels of culture and capacity to have a plan for orderly civic development. She sees no planned towns or communities with a central core..just unregulated housing development without a central organised node of community business and civic organisations. Roads are built for cars to speed with no idea of accommodation for safe pedestrian passage let alone streetscaping. It's the wild south devoid of the kind of knowledge and leadership that understands planning and laws and organisational capacity. Sad.

imagine this country have a president that owns a multi-million dillar farm while they set minimum wages for Guyanese to $500 per month…the government couldn't even provide a new boar for public transportation with all the oil revenue it is receiving. but they had a 80+ year boat that sink and killed 100+ citizens becait was not up to standard for the watertop
onherbike @5:47 Interesting that you did not feature the Marriot hotel and Pegasus suites (which collaborated with Hyatt last week) were just a few hundred meters behind you, located on the shore line. However you later featured Marriot from its back exit instead of the parking lot/lobby entrance, mhhhmm! Notably @ 6:16 the parliament building is on your left. I thought that it would've caught your attention considering its history/architecture and your interest in engineering. I see you went all the way (96 KM from central Georgetown) up to the Berbice river that's nice. However you missed the more recently constructed Bharrat Jagdeo Demerara River Bridge that spans the Demerara River right here in Georgetown – BTW its toll free and especially picturesque at night with its lights and skyline. I have to agree with you on the sand, traffic, cost of living and humidity. Maybe get a guide next time to show you some nicer neighborhoods as well. Safe Travels.

The beautiful wood buildings have been renewed. They are from the colonial area. Britain didn't invest in more sustainable materials like brick and concrete.
Where you staying? Guyana has plenty of places you can stay with AC and for $100 USA.
A word of advice to you ,just jump on your motorcycle goes to a country and only shouting that you don't know ,do your research before traveling to a place that you donk know nothing about place ,the people and their customs,its people like you who end up at the wrong place meeting the wrong people and then your country will say if something happens to badly your country will blames the country that you were vlogging .Do your research.!
The government of Guyana need to teach Guyanese about civic pride
That is not the Demerara Harbour Bridge (aka the floating bridge), which has since been replaced. That looks like the Berbice River Bridge.
