Growing up in Toronto, I was always surrounded by Guyanese friends and culture. I spent plenty of time in their homes, at BBQs, family gatherings, and parties, so Guyanese culture has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Years later, I finally visited Guyana for myself and fell in love with the country, the people, and the culture even more. 🇬🇾
In today’s video, Aneesa Badshaw and I spend the day experiencing a little piece of Guyana right here in Toronto. We start at a local Guyanese BBQ, then head to my old friend’s daughter’s 16th birthday party, and somehow end the night at a duck curry competition! Welcome to Guyana in Toronto! 🇨🇦 🇬🇾

Hi Chris. It was a lovely reunion. The mouth of the Essequibo river has 3 islands. Wakeanan is the largest. You can take a boat from Parika to get there.
