There are serious questions surrounding Premnarine's actions, and the public deserves answers.
Let's stop for a minute and think seriously about the implications here. We are talking about a trained senior police officer discharging his firearm at a target whose identity he either knew or claims not to have known. Neither possibility should be brushed aside.
If Premnarine knew he was shooting at the leader of the opposition, that raises an extremely serious question about whether this was a deliberate attempt to assassinate a political opponent. That is an allegation that must be investigated, not casually assumed.
On the other hand, if he DID NOT know who his target was, then we have a different but equally disturbing problem. What kind of trained senior police officer recklessly unloads his firearm at a target without positively identifying what – or WHO – he is shooting at?
A trained officer who cannot exercise proper judgment and restraint when handling a firearm poses a serious potential danger to the public. Training is supposed to prevent precisely this kind of reckless conduct, not provide an excuse for it.
So, Premnarine, the public deserves a straight answer. DID YOU KNOW WHO YOU WERE SHOOTING AT, OR DID YOU NOT?
You cannot simply expect people to ignore the implications of these two possibilities. Either answer demands serious scrutiny, and the evidence must establish what actually happened.
I also believe the investigation should consider whether a properly administered polygraph examination would be useful, alongside the far more important work of examining ballistic evidence, witness statements, video footage, firearm records, and the officer's own account.
Commissioner of Police, it is time to act! Secure the evidence, ensure an independent and impartial investigation, and establish the facts. No officer should be above accountability, regardless of rank or position.
This is about public safety, the rule of law, and protecting democracy. When a trained police officer discharges a firearm in circumstances this serious, the public deserves answers—not excuses, silence, or a cover-up.
Anything less than a thorough, transparent, and independent investigation will only reinforce my position that Guyana is becoming a SH!THOLE country, where those entrusted with authority can endanger lives and escape accountability.
Commissioner, the ball is in your court. The public is watching.

The opposition leader has a been a good opposition leader because, Mr Mohamed, is the reason why the Guyanese people get to find out about all the corruption that has been happening in the PPPC government and with their associates, families and ministers. The opposition leader exposed President Ali’s farm, road contracts that have been given to President Ali’s friends and so many other corrupt activists going on amongst the PPPC group. In conclusion, the opposition leader, Azrundin Mohamed, has been doing the job that the Guyanese people have elected him to do. Which is to expose every corruption involving the PPPC government and President Ali.
