GUYANA IN ‘SERIOUS’ TALKS FOR LOCAL OIL REFINERY – PRES ALI

Sharing is caring!

Oil hotspot Guyana is forging ahead with talks for a refinery to meet local demand, according to the country’s President Dr. Irfaan Ali. In a Facebook ‘Tea on the Terrace’ video, President Ali said his government is pursuing key long-term investments that would help insulate the country from external shocks such as the trade disruptions resulting from conflict between Iran and the United States of America. Those investments include a natural gas plant and a gas bottling facility, both ventures that will utilise the natural gas found offshore. By harnessing this abundant natural resource, the President believes Guyana will be better able to control the cost of gas and fertilisers, while guaranteeing that industrial and manufacturing opportunities remain viable. An oil refinery to meet local demand is another venture being seriously considered.

  1. Since 2020 these loud mouth "losers" been "trumpeting" they had Investors ready to invest in an oil refinery.

Any fool would have given priority to a refinery since "first oil"………..
    They're void of "Nationalism"………

    And why the "DR"?…….

  2. Now this clown is talking about this when people were saying this for years now. This is incompetence to the highest. This should have been done since 2020. By now we would be refining our own fuel and none of the nonsense would have happened. Just time wasted.
