ExxonMobil announced the discovery of a 13th oil field with significant reserves. We revisit the question of how rich is Guyana now after first asking this question in 2018 when there were only 5 oil fields to see what is the projected impact on Guyana’s economy and the value of the Guyana dollar. In a previous discussion 6 months ago for this I posted a vlog titled The Value of the Guyana dollar will rise after March 1, 2020. We reexamine this projection given the new level of the oil reserves which are now in excess of 5.5 billion barrels equivalent.

You are living in hokey pokey land my brother take off your colour spectacle. The bauxite , timber and gold industry did'nt make much of a difference to Guyana economy. The point is plenty of oil yes but what percentage these foreign investor and company will give Guyana maybe 10-20% they keep 80%. When there is oil spill who pays. They will give Guyana 20% with the right hand and take back 40% with the other leaving the Guyana in a mess and damaging our fishing industry. And with the current government who seems brain dead with dollars sign flashing will just sign away everything to these foreign companies.
