Massive Fire Destroys Mae’s School in Subryanville, Georgetown, Guyana. #hgpbreaking #breakingnews

Sharing is caring!

Chaos unfolded this morning as a massive fire engulfed the Mae’s School wooden building in Subryanville, forcing parents to rush back in panic after dropping off their children.

The Guyana Fire Service was alerted around 8:00 AM, and emergency crews arrived swiftly as students were evacuated to a nearby playfield. Despite efforts from four fire tenders, strong winds from the Atlantic Ocean accelerated the blaze, completely consuming the two-story structure on Third Avenue, Subryanville.

Thick black smoke filled the sky, visible from miles away, as firefighters battled the flames from multiple angles, including from above using the Skylift fire tender. One firefighter sustained injuries during the response and was treated by Emergency Medical Technicians on site.

The cause of the fire remains undetermined, and investigations are ongoing.
