  1. Those are big dollar amounts but Guyana only gets a fraction of that investment. Exxon is buying their equipment from Asia, Europe and the USA. From the drilling lease payment and extraction percentages, the sovereign host amount ends up in the pockets of the corrupt local elite classes as it's filtered into glamour projects run by cronies of the political leaders.
