Pluses for Guyana over rest of South America, it has English as its official language, it has massive oil reserves and a business friendly government. Negatives, it has zero beaches for tourism, it has a tiny work force with poor work ethetic and education, infrastrucuture is poor, and political parties are split down racial lines. Oh and not to mention the elephant in the room Venezuela. Tread carefully down there guys. When the British left 60 years ago, they took their "my word is my bond" with them. 😢

Interesting video but to be honest didn't get very good vibes with these 2. I was seeing them trying to 'over sell' this idea and not too much skin in the game for them. Mobil has already been there for years and this was just another oil find for them. Wouldn't count on the government really investing in the infrastructure, they would have done so many years ago. It looks like Mobil comes in takes the crude oil out on the barge and leaves and never touches land. So these so called jobs or prospective enterprises would not really make much sense. Justs my humble opinion😊
I own a lot of XOM, and I was very interested in the offshore field they discovered in Guyana. My understanding is that the all in costs of a barrel of oil is US$50+. I don't know how much of a royalty XOM is paying the Guyanese government, but the government is not getting $50/barrel. Maybe the royalty is $10 or less per barrel. Governments are not good stewards of money, generally, so I hope the government is smart in using the royalties in improving infrastructure and building hospitals and universities. Good luck to the two young entrepreneurs.

You say land is hard to come by and I agree but I have land for sale in providence. I have no decided on the price as yet. The land prices are rising fast and my land is located not too far from the heros highway and a supermarket which means I can call a higher price. It is a developing area. The land suits a young expat couple. Could be used for business purposes too. The land has passed the 10 year period that is required as per the agreement of sale.

Venezuela has the cheapest labor force on the planet, all that is needed is to open the border. I don't know what stage the military conflict is at. I think Brazil would also have a lot of workers willing to earn some money on the boom.

There is more than one Guyana in that origin, each country in that origin belongs to a European nation. And all the investment in the last 7 years on the origins made by the "Ayatollah regime".

I have an HVAC company for commercial and industrial equipment. I am wondering is a service like this needed and what would it take to build infrastructure as I work in the construction industry and I know build quality is not the best in these part of the world. What conferences would you recommend going to?
As long as the dispute between Guyana and Venezuela isn't resolved, with Rubio threatening Venezuela, people should presumably want to stay away from this. IMHO.
