DIE HARD FAN ‘KING KING’ EXCITED ABOUT FUTURE OF LOCAL HORSE RACING
Tota Ram Bachan, a die-hard horse racing fan, is excited about the future of the ‘Sport of Kings’ in Guyana, especially with the new legislation in place, establishing a regulatory framework for the sector.
Bachan, popularly known as ‘King King’, speaking to News Room on Sunday last at the 18th Guyana Cup at the Rising Sun Turf Club, commended Jumbo Jet Events for lifting the profile of the sport by constantly improving the marquee event every year.
He is also enthusiastic about the competency of personnel on the Guyana Horse Racing Authority, led by Dr. Steven Cheefoon, to steer the sport in the right direction.
Bachan is looking forward to the sport being elevated to international standards whereby horses can be imported and exported, the local breeding industry could be further expanded and more facilities could be developed to accommodate fans.
