EL NIÑO CONDITIONS EXPECTED TO BRING HOTTER, DRIER WEATHER THROUGH EARLY 2027

Guyana is preparing for hotter and drier conditions as the Hydrometeorological Service forecasts the continuation of El Niño conditions through the remainder of 2026 and potentially into the first quarter of 2027. The weather pattern is expected to bring increased temperatures, reduced rainfall and a heightened risk of forest and bush fires.
