Hundreds of Foreign Nationals Gather at Health Ministry

Sharing is caring!

Member of Parliament Sherod Duncan is calling on the government to explain why hundreds of foreign nationals gathered at the Ministry of Health’s Brickdam compound on Monday morning. Reporting from the location, Duncan observed hundreds of people, many carrying passports, appearing to participate in some form of registration exercise. Various explanations were circulating, including claims that the gathering involved foreign healthcare workers or an identification process, but Duncan stressed that he could not independently confirm those claims. He maintained that his concern is not with foreign nationals living or working in Guyana, but with ensuring that migration and employment processes are properly structured, lawful and transparent.

Duncan also placed the gathering within the wider debate over Guyana’s migration policy and the recently announced cooperation framework with the United States involving third-country nationals. He renewed calls for the government to disclose the details of that arrangement and provide Parliament and the public with clear information about migration, foreign workers and immigration management. Duncan argued that the scenes at the Ministry demonstrate why timely official information is essential and called on the administration to explain precisely what programme was being conducted, who was eligible to participate, which government agencies were involved and what legal or administrative process governed the exercise.

  1. Registration delegated to their nationals and will be passed to the right team managing the documentations. Previously, too much LIMING caused missed oppertunities for his peoples education and business ownerships of the Afro Guyanese, the majority.

  2. Cubans are our Caribbean brothers and sisters. We must never forget the CRITICAL help Cuba had given Guyana during the Burnham era and after. Our CURRENT population is too small to address the skills requirements of the oil and oil-cognate sectors. We need South Americans and Caribbeans in large numbers. REMEMBER: We had been leaving in large numbers during the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, RUNNING AWAY FROM A COLLAPSING ECONOMY, to reside in Europe, the Caribbean and North America.

  3. We are not getting food to eat and our government are bringing unwanted people here for what?I do hope he don't getting himself in big, big problems. Are we the bread baskets ? Or dumpling areas.

  4. Imagine yuh name been talked and you don't understand what's being said.
I went to a Chinese Market and asked for assistance the other day and was told very politely. " no Englais,no Englais.
Do with that, as thou wilt.🎉

  5. Why are you commenting without knowing what is happening there go get the facts straight and let us know what is happening there we are not in Guyana 🇬🇾 but we would like to know who are these people in our country and where they came from which country we are not speaking Spanish we speak English we have to get them out of our country asap let them go back home where they belong

  6. Now that Venezuela is stablised, the Venezuelans need to return to Venezuela, not to leave for Guyana of which its Guyanese citizens are existing in poverty, 60% poverty; 39% live in extreme poverty.

Despite the poverty and real crises in Haiti, the government of Mohamed Arfaan Ali and Bharrat Jagdeo, as well as Mohabir Anil Nandlall, are not allowing Haitian Africans in Guyana.

Is Guyana bent on becoming the next Argentina where the African population was intentionally wiped out?
