US Expands Military Presence in Trinidad & Guyana — What’s Really Happening?
The United States is increasing its security presence in the Caribbean, and new developments in Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana are raising important questions about the region’s future.
A new radar system installed in Tobago is part of a wider effort by the United States to monitor narcotics trafficking and illegal arms smuggling across Caribbean waters. But even after the removal of Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro, the American military presence has not scaled back.
So why is the US still expanding its security footprint in the region?
At the same time, Guyana is experiencing one of the fastest-growing oil booms in the world. Its massive offshore discoveries have drawn global attention and are transforming the geopolitical importance of the Caribbean.
With new security agreements and regional cooperation initiatives, some analysts believe the Caribbean is becoming an increasingly strategic zone for global powers.
In this video we explore:
• Why the US installed a radar system in Tobago
• How Guyana’s oil boom is reshaping regional politics
• The growing security partnership between the US and Caribbean nations
• Concerns about sovereignty and transparency in the region
As global competition for energy and strategic influence grows, the Caribbean may be entering a new geopolitical era.

In the government of Trinidad and Guyana not the people
The economic and security benefits of having the United States as a T&T partner outweigh any negatives. This partnership will increase the quality of our lives in this tiny twin-island state. I see only benefits.
THEY ARE THE COLONIAL RULERS. AND THEY WANT BLACK AND BROWN PEOPLE TO KNOW WHO'S STILL LARGE AND INCHARGE.
If wasn't for American none of you bully talking here would be free movement, stupidity has no cure
Guyana needs a us base
That's a set up for a take over.
Presence equals acquisition of Guyana's and Trinibago's oil, gas and gold, eh?
The RAID unit is an additional resource aimed at combating drugs, guns, and human trafficking. I'm thrilled they're deploying one in the Valencia area! If the police come knocking, don't panic – just cooperate and remember that justice will prevail. God's watchful eye sees all, and His timing is perfect. Let's trust in His plan and sovereignty.
Will the seized drugs be publicly destroyed as evidence after the case is concluded and the perpetrators are sentenced, serving as a deterrent and symbol of accountability?
Why is the prime minister of Trinidad and Tobago putting our lives at risk?
Watch for the knife in the usa’s hand
This is not about narcotics this is all about minerals resources the United States does not have these resources where you see them having army bases all over this planet it will not work it is 2026 the New world order is showing up and when that African continent of 54 countries speak with one voice it's a wrap 💯👹🤡😭
The us leaders dont like black people we are there slave the y call us N ànd we vote for that our first pm is turning in the heaven
America needs to look over their own business and the poverty of their own citizens!!!+++
🎉they was the first drugs makers and dealers
They're cancer avoiding them 😂
They dropped the ball, Trying to compete with the Chinese influence in the Caribbean 😢😅
Guyana and Trinidad are fools to believe it about protection. Stoop to those dictator, devils . You all gonna end up just like Libya and the others.FOOLS. What happens with all the years that went by. I guess they only see it when the oil starts flowing.
All the Caribbean islands need China and Russia to defend the islands from bully America.
America cannot do without blacks resources
Trinidad need the USA , Thank God for Trinidad and Tobago prime minister 🙏.
Hey Nicki Minaj
When you live in America’s backyard , you don’t have much option to fight the big man in the WH .
This is geopolitical reality for the entire Caribbean. Like it or not .
god in control
Unfortunately, the US never tells the truth about anything and Caribbean people ought to be very circumspect with these treacherous colonials hanging around especially in the light of Narco Rubio's recent pronouncements at the Munich conference. I personally do not trust them in any way shape or form and I believe that our people in this region need to be doubly careful with these dudes hanging around.
One area that I will cite here and which is rampant in Japan and I think also in South Korea is, local women being raped by US troops and because of the treaties that are signed, local authorities cannot arrest these men in these situations. There have been many cases of women in Okinawa and other places where these bases are located that have complained of being sexually assaulted by US troops and nothing has been done about it,
I'll go further: about 10 years ago, give or take, I read a report where it was stated that one third, 33% of female US troops are sexually assaulted by their commanding officers. I don't know what the outcome of it was but my advice to the women in those countries where US troops are stationed to be very wary of this perceived proclivity of US troops.
The US since 1944 or 45 have a Radar operating on the Mounting above their Deep Water Navy Base in Trinidad. If I recall there was one on Fort George in Tobago too. The Land was Leased to them for 99 years by the British who owned Trinidad and Tobago at that time.
Sovereignty is secondary
We need America to protect the Caribbean yes Guyana too why because of dictators like Maduro.
And fry rice police officers in the Caribbean.
T&T / US relationship is much better under the new UNC govt and PM Kamla. We need the US help to help us fight transnational crime.
Occupation i call this and USA will steal your oil and lost your Sovereign and dignity
The U.S. is expanding its presence in the Caribbean… do you think this will actually make the region safer, or is it more about control and resources? 🤔🌴
“Interesting to see the U.S. expanding in the Caribbean 😳… but is this really about security, or just protecting oil and strategic interests? What do you all think — help or takeover? 🇺🇸🌴”
We in the Caribbean are being fool by the USA…I now understand why we are so doum.when Trinidad and Tobago will own peice of land in the USA…….We Caribbean leaders sellout the Caribbean…….what are bam bam bam…….
