GUYANA NOW ENTITLED TO 39.8% OF STABROEK OIL PRODUCTION – ALI SAYS
For years, cost recovery has been one of the most misunderstood parts of Guyana’s oil deal—how much oil the companies can use to recover their investments, and when Guyana begins to see a larger share. President Dr. Irfaan Ali sought to clear up that confusion at his Tuesday press conference, saying the ExxonMobil-led consortium has now recovered its initial investment costs. And with that milestone, Guyana’s share of Stabroek Block production has risen sharply to 39.8 percent, according to the President, compared with the roughly 12.5 percent profit-oil share during the earlier stages of production.
