GUYANA/SURINAME FERRY SERVICE TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED
The Management of the Guyana/Suriname Ferry Service on Saturday announced that its service has been temporarily suspended due to technical issues on board the MV. Canawaima. Management says the MV Canawaima is experiencing technical issues, but no timeline has been given for the resumption of service. This has caused passengers uncertain about when they will be able to cross. One bus operator, Randy, told reporters that he has been plying the route for years. The Canawaima Ferry Service links Guyana and Suriname across the Corentyne River between Moleson Creek and South Drain. Randy said he is hoping the authorities can find an alternative solution for stranded passengers.
