Addressing the opening of the Guyana Defence Force Annual Officers’ onference 2026,President Dr. Irfaan Ali on Monday outlined an expanded vision for Guyana’s national defence, urging the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) to accelerate its transformation into a modern, agile and resilient force capable of protecting the country’s sovereignty, resources and democracy amid an increasingly complex global and regional security environment.
